Travel Photography is arguably one of the most enchanting genres of photography. There is always a variety of scope, when one goes onto travel this world. Every place we visit is unique for the look and ambiance of it. The variety of cultures with the people, the great architectures of the place, and a lot more. The surprise these lands offer you has to be translated into a photograph for it has to be a beautiful record of what you have visioned. I personally feel that there are few basic and strong theories for being a good travel photographer. Here in this article, I have carefully outlined these tips with some wonderful photographs.
#1 Destination
After all the days of dream and longingness, there comes a day when you actually travel to the place where you always wanted/intended to. Few may even suggest it to be destiny to travel to any travel destination. So be careful while choosing a place as your travel destination, pick the right time to be there. It may not suit you all time the year. Choose the right time and the right place to reap the most out of it. This can be the most important part since a bad destination can ruin your entire trip.
#2 Planning & Team
Choosing the destination, planning & organizing might all look little tiring at the beginning. But believe me it just gets better and better if you are with a good gang of fellow photographers. Keep in mind to load your gang with spirited and passionate people, so there is no wasting time or energy anywhere in a remote destination. Plan the trip, well in advance to stack up tickets and to have a pleasant stress-less trip. Make sure you take backup HDD depending upon your time duration. Be prepared for the worst conditions, so you are already armed when the disaster hits you. Hope not.
#3 Insight
Continuing with the point of, think what suits your style of photography for you to visit a place. Look for some local festivals or religious gatherings in the place to just spice up your photography. Browse through other great pictures of the same place so that you could get knowledge about what to shoot and what to omit. Good to mention, since you are there is a great spot, it is not necessary to shoot something which has already been shot zillion times. Prepare yourself for the surprises the place has to offer. The Better you are ready, the better the chances for you to hit the shot. If you go with a big team, try to disperse and walk alone, so all the 5 of you don’t shoot the same portrait. But make sure you stick with the team to avoid search notices!
#4 Choices
These wild destinations are sure gonna surprise you with plenty of choices all around. Be it the divine sunrise or the people there. Everything you see will be unlike you see in your city. So get ready for the treat. Stay calm and relax for the unseen to unfold before you. Remember there might be a lot of things happening around which are utterly new and beautiful for a photographer like you but just choose the right choice to capture an eternity.
#5 Publish & Express
It is always thrilling to show others what you have captured. Though every photographer needs to understand the importance of publishing. This keeps the fire inside you burning. Nobody listens to people who say I shoot a lot of wonderful pictures but I hardly publish them. We don’t want to see trailers, what matters much is the picture itself. So make sure you show them what you got back from the enthralling trip. I am sure it will surprise them triple the time, the scene itself surprised you.
Reach new heights and constantly travel around the globe, if not at least your country. Cheers!!
