The Last day of this year just cant better speaking about our Pedro Luis Raota, one of the 20th century’s most influential and important photographers. Pedro is from Argentina, born in 26th April 1934 to a farmers family. At a very young it is learnt that Pedro has sold his bicycle to buy his first camera.Initially he started doing passport photos and this was where he had learnt the alphabets of photography.
So how was he considered to be one of the most important photographers of all time. It was his fantastic talent for capturing the human spirits with the decisive moment almost all the time. In almost all of Pedro’s portraits one could sense a grand intensity of focused spirit which is hard to find in works of others. The Emotions are conveyed through every bit of it, the sweetness, young innoncense grading much further into raw reality.
Pedro has received a huge galore of awards and appreciations over the period of time. There was deep humanity evident in all of his photographs. His visual trademark was always a well lit subject against a dark background. Gradually it did become his unique style and one could actually figure out his work pretty straight due to his style of photography.
One could spend hours speaking about his achievements and awards. But to mention the least he did win a grand award “The Pracda 75” for which he was offered an opportunity to spend 45 days photographing 28 different countries.
