The region called “Huizhou” is home to several ancient architectural wonders from the Ming and Qing Dynasty, which includes villages of Xidi and Hongcun that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. There is plenty of villages scattered about the verdant countryside and contrasting with white houses. Another landscape can be found in Shexian county in Anhui province, Yangchan village is built on the mountainside and is famous for its earthen building.
