The work is about the colourful side of stranded Pakistani refugees also called Biharis, living at Geneva Camp, Dhaka. The photo story shows the vibrancy of this community during their moments of celebration as well as in their day to day life.
The fact that Biharis moved to newly formed East Pakistan (current Bangladesh) from the Indian states of Bihar, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh during the partition of India in the year 1947, similarly to what my grandparents did by moving from newly formed Pakistan to India during the same time, got me really interested in this community as this community is still struggling for its rights and battling for existence in a land they chose to migrate 70 years ago.
