The very feel of innocence from the people, enchanting colors and some scene of rural Bangladesh. The memoirs of childhood and some poetry with camera forms the world for Pranabesh Das. His Pictures doesn’t need any explanation for even a layman to understand. Every picture takes you by surprise. Hi Pranabesh, can you please introduce yourself?
Born in Sylhet, Bangladesh. Spent some time of childhood in a village by the bank of a Haor in Sunamganj. Started doing photography in 2006. Later got training from Pathshala, South Asian Media Academy. Currently working as a System Engineer in an IT company.
Why you chose People and Street Photography?
Being born in a locality by the side of a Haor, I’ve seen people struggle against storms and floods to live; I’ve seen them fight the odds of nature completely on their own. These people are the heroes of my life. I remember them in my tough times to get me through – and it works. After starting photography I figured that it is only people that fascinate me, it is only taking photographs of people that I enjoy relentlessly. My childhood has tremendous influence on my life – it could be the reason why I decided to photograph people.
Any childhood memories?
I was born in a village that stood by the bank of a Haor. There was a river flowing on one side of it, and on the other side was a Haor that seemed almost as vast as the sea. No matter how far you cast your eyes you could only see water. I spent my childhood jumping and swimming in that water, and fishing in the Haor. And now when I think of it, I consider myself lucky for having spent my childhood in that village. It’s the atmosphere, the mud and water of the Haor that taught me to love people.

In every part of my life the hard working people of my village have their influence. They are the ones who inspire me.
Few words for young aspirants and beginners of photography?
I think everyone should work the way they like. It is more important to be able to fascinate oneself, rather than fascinating others. And I think that is what one should do in the first place.
