Hello everyone! My name is Nazmul Islam and I am a Landscape Photographer based in London, UK. I started my photographic journey fairly late in life, although I have always had a point and shoot camera, starting with film and then digital. I first rekindled my love of photography when I obtained my first digital SLR, the Canon 400D in 2006 and I have continued to use Canon gear and now use the 5D mark 3 and 6D mark 1 for all my photography. I initially started as a wedding and documentary photographer and even won the Documentary Photographer of the Year in 2014 from The Royal Photographic Society.
However, my Landscape photography started in 2015 when I started experimenting with long exposure photography and I haven’t looked back since. I find waking up early in the morning for a sunrise shoot and arriving at a location when everybody else is still in bed, an enthralling experience. The solitude, tranquillity and facing the morning light, whether it is spectacular or a grey overcast day is something that helps my well-being. I mainly photograph locations around the UK, trying to capture the moment in a unique perspective or even the classic view. When arriving at a location whether on the coast or up a mountain, my style of photography is determined by the composition firstly, which I consider the most important factor when capturing an image and then I can wait for the light to make the photo happen or sometimes not but being in nature and the out doors, these experiences will last with me forever!
