Located In the middle of nowhere. 200km from the Russian border.
For more than 9 years I’m shooting in winter for Porsche in Northern China every January.
Weather conditions are between -20 up to -45 degrees Celsius. (-4 to -49 Fahrenheit) When it’s -20, then we call that warm. Very tough, challenging, and tiring not only physically but also for the equipment.
Under these temperatures, ballpoint pens stop to work. If you take your phone out of your pocket it will most likely stop working after 5 minutes because the battery is draining. When you are outside, you are out of breath very quickly and you get frost on your eyelashes after 30min.
Here are some of the hero shots.
BTW: These shots are real. No CGI. Just little toning and retouch.
