Wildlife Photography doesn’t need much Introduction. What makes us go in awe is the amount of patience time and dedication most of the grand masters of wildlife photography usually put in to get a good shot. Unlike other genres this requires a huge bit of investment on the gear too, with some lenses weighing as much as 50 Pounds. Making any swift motion completely out of equation, yet the quality of pictures is always scintillating.

Here we have collected some amazing portfolio websites of Wildlife Photographers around the world. Please check their galleries and get inspired. This list would surely be a boost to all aspiring Wildlife Photographers out there. Most of the photographers are available in Facebook and Twitter, follow them for regular updates. As always, if we’ve missed something you think should have been included, please let us know in the comments.

Susan McConnell

I feel that wildlife photography has an important purpose: powerful images help connect people with our natural heritage and stimulate a commitment to conservation. Our planet is an amazing place, and we need to preserve its wonders for future generations. Ever since I was a little girl, I have been interested in animal behavior. Like many girls who eventually became scientists, I wanted to be Jane Goodall (or someone like her) when I grew up. However, rather than studying animal behavior in the field, I now study brain development in the lab. As a Professor of Biology at Stanford University in Stanford, California, I am trying to understand how neural circuits get built with exquisite precision during fetal development. In addition to my research, I teach courses on brain development and conservation photography to undergraduate students.

Mark Dumbleton

I am a wildlife and landscape photographer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Born with a passion for the outdoors, I travel through Africa photographing the events and nuances of the natural world. Evoking an emotion through my photography evolved from a life-long passion for nature. Capturing the unique beauty of a location and it’s wildlife or landscape motivates me to invest as much time as I do out in the wilderness, focusing on nothing more than to potentially create a photograph with enough emotion and visual drama to tell a story; to justify to the viewer the immense beauty of that experience. The photographs on this website portray my passion for this, in a way that is both creative and natural, sometimes pushing the boundaries to obtain that unique perspective on our natural world. I photograph nature in its purest form because I love it, and I love to share my work with people who appreciate it.

Laura Dyer

I love to travel, and I love photography, as it allows me to better appreciate the wonderful things I see. I am happiest when sitting camera in hand, watching one of Africa’s great mammals crossing the plains, or a polar bear hunting on the ice. Nothing inspires me as much as a sunrise, and nowhere in Africa thrills me as does the Kalahari. I have also fallen for the Arctic, and her beautiful wildlife and landscapes- this fragile ecosystem on top of the world is captivating in every sense of the word, and I don’t believe its a place that can ever be ‘seen’. I take every opportunity to get out into the bush, or to travel to other countries. My passion is wildlife photography, and since I began taking photo’s three years ago, I haven’t let a free moment pass without a trip to the bush.

Wolf Ademeit

My pictures never try to take account of actual circumstances. They are my elegy on an animal world which disappears in tragic way every day more and more. In contrast to the wild life photography, the animals in the zoo normally in an environment that is artificial, highly distracting and make an artistic design difficult. Therefore, as a photographic technology, I dark all picture parts which are not necessary to the picture creation. As in the portrait photography I try to find the position in which the animals present themselves as an individual or kind is best.

Richard Peters

Although based in the urban surroundings of London, my love of wildlife means I spend as much time as I can in the more rural parts of the country or, at any given chance, the more distant parts of the world in pursuit of my next photo. This passion, inspired in a big way from growing up watching the BBCs incredible wildlife documentaries, has taken me to some amazing places and I’m delighted my efforts have been recognized by way of being awarded in various competitions including the highly prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year (WPOTY) and the British Wildlife Photography Awards (BWPA). However, I must confess the highlight of my journey so far has been the absolute privilege of meeting the star of those natural history BBC documentaries, Sir David Attenborough. – Richard peters

Grant Atkinson

I grew up in the Transkei, along South Africa’s eastern coastline. It was there that I developed a keen interest in wildlife. In 1999 I moved to northern Botswana and joined Wilderness Safaris as a field guide. I spent twelve years in Botswana before relocating to Cape Town in South Africa. Today I guide safaris all over Africa. I am both a naturalist and a photographer, with deeply-rooted interests in all forms of wildlife. During my time in Botswana, I was actively involved in monitoring lion populations in the private concession areas that are operated by Wilderness Safaris.
