A big warm hello to all the readers. I am Puspita Chowdhury from Guwahati, Assam, done my post-graduation in sales and marketing, have worked for 12 years, and am now a total homemaker. From my early days, I was always inclined towards art, though not formally trained but I always loved to doodle.
Photography started for me when I brought my first DSLR to click images of my daughter’s dance recitals. I use to take my camera and click Egrets from my terrace and started posting them in Facebook groups. Slowly and steadily I started to enjoy clicking and became quite passionate about it. But I had no idea about composition or framing. Mr. AnupamChakraborty, who lived nearby, introduced me to Pro Vision Imaging Academy and my Mentor, Mr. BidyasagarBaruah and Mr. NeerajPhookan.
Being from North-East and surrounded by different Flora and Fauna, I was always interested in wildlife. But due to a lack of proper gear, I started to explore the street more. But I had zero ideas of what street was. So, I started to look out for street images in various social media groups. Started to Google Street Photographers, and tried to understand their works, tried to understand compositions and what made an image work on a next level. And that’s what I am still doing, learning new things every day and just getting amazed.
It has been almost two years now that I am trying my hands in street photography. Had my work published in different national and international magazines and was awarded as Photographer of the Year 2020-2021 by the Photography Club Of Assam. Currently, I am the moderator of the Photography Club Of Assam, trying my hands in Street Photography in my own hometown, yet to explore places.
