An introduction about you?
My Name is Deni Alisputra and my familiar name is Uda Dennie, I am born in Bukittinggi (West Sumatera) and now living at Batam Island (Kepulauan Riau). I began taking shot using a DSLR in March 2010. As an enthusiast, I followed some friends who had been exposed to photography for years and I learned a lot of things from them.
I then explored my photography skills by shooting weddings, documentation and models both for a living and fun. My passion for macro came up when I saw great macro images in photography websites and I told I had to be able to make my own macro photos. And after trials and errors, lots of hunting and explorations I am now able to produce out fine macro images. Perseverance really paid off.
About Insect Photography?
I took these photos around my place. Lots of ants’ activities could be found there. I was inspired to produce out macro images as there are many moments involving insects around us that are rarely seen and what I did was to set my gear to capture those images so I will get to know their lives better. Ideas of taking photos of these insects came up after I explored and studied their activities which I found to be interesting and full of stories.
Taking the pictures of these ants is not an easy task in fact it is quite a challenge. We had to wait for a unique moment, set up the lighting to bring out the beauty of the photo and the most important thing is our patience to capture the moments that we wished to have.
What is your equipment to shoot Insect Photography?
The photography equipment that I used is far from complicated. I used my Canon Kiss X4, Sigma 150mm Macro, a monopod and once in a while I used a flash for a fill in.
