Could you please introduce yourself?
I’m Aleksandra Kirievskaya a portrait photographer from a small provincial town in the Urals.
How did Photography happen to Aleksandra?
I began doing photography in 2010. My dad gave me a camera and I had no clue what to do with it or how to use it. I couldn’t even turn it on. But that did not stop me and I soon was able to learn and master the art of photography.
How would you define your style of Portrait Photography?
Style? I’ve never really thought about it. Having a person is important to me so I can capture his or her feelings and emotions. I love it when they open up to me and show me their world. I’m not sure if there’s a specific style for this, but I enjoy the portrait photos.
There is a peculiar mood in your pictures, how do you achieve them?
My photos are all very me. They are filled with my perception and the characters I photograph guide me. It allows me to fill the gram with different moods and atmospheres.
Could you please share the secret to capture a great portrait?
Shoot your photo sincerely and without a trace. Love the one you photograph. Give yourself to this moment and live it with the soul.
What is the best compliment you received so far?
That I’m sincere.
Who are you when no one is looking at you?
I’m the same.
Which photographers have inspired you?
There are a lot of photographers. I never had a specific idol and I don’t think there will be. They all inspire me.”
What camera do you use the majority of the time?
Film Camera Hasselblad 501.
Any favorite photography books?
There are no such.
Favorite Music?
I love Mozart and Vivaldi. I love Tirsen.
What’s your personal motto?
Never stop. Movement is life.
Who is your real life heroes?
There are no such.
What is Love?
Love is a gift.
Apart from photography, tell me about your hobbies and interests?
I love books. This is my second passion after the photo. I have a large library and devote my free time to it. I love cinema. I love friends.
