My City’s Streets has always been very nostalgic to me, whenever I go through on these, it’s every corner is so familiar to me that it evokes my emotions. Due to my work engagement, I don’t have any chance to shoot outside my city or another side of my country where plenty of subjects available for photographing, that is why I always try to prevent my shooting appetite by photographing my very own City’s Street activities. There is nothing special for street photography in my city like others but I always try to catch special moments and people’s emotions from my city’s daily life.

My City is Siliguri, situated in the northern part of West Bengal, India at Himalayan Foothills. I have been shooting at this small town since my interest has grown in Street photography, lots of photographs I have taken, especially on people and their daily street life. Due to a small city every time whenever I walking down around my city’s streets and main roads usually I can see my people, Characters, Static Subjects, whom I have photographed once. I feel that I am living with those people like my family. Every day I use to see them in photographs and real-life as well. On the other hand, my photographs sail me on emotional Boat in my daily life. These are my nostalgic emotions which I tried to convey through my photographs.

I am sharing some of my Street emotions with you.

About Arup Biswas

I am a Passionate Street and Travel Photographer from Siliguri, West Bengal. A Computer Teacher by profession. My interest in photography developed at a very small age while playing around with a small film camera and Compact Digital Camera. I bought my first DSLR Camera in 2010 and started taking pictures on the street and different types of Landscapes. Unaware of the concept of photography. I am a self-taught photographer. I worked on my skills through images of famous photographers in street and travel photography genre.

I strongly believe that an image is a success when the viewer can connect with the subject in the photograph. I like capturing people in their natural behavior and surrounding activities on the street and think that every situation has a story to tell. I am to show the reality of my image as well as natural occurrences on the street.

Some of my memorable achievements were winning some POTD, some publications in Smart Photography Magazine, Asian Photography, I have also received good placements and reviews in some competitions and my work has been published in various print and online magazines and blogs. I am also a contributor to Getty Images. But as a great success, I consider the recognition of people in social networks that follow and appreciate my work regularly. Though a teacher by profession, I will always be a student when it comes to photography.
