Varanasi, also known as Banaras is a city on the banks of the Ganges and it is the spiritual capital of India. It is one of the holiest cities in Hinduism. The ghat refers to a series of steps leading down to a body of holy water, Ganges.
These series of pictures portray daily life @ ghats of Varanasi. There are people who come to Varanasi to do their ceremony to their ancestors. There are people who live there and do daily morning rituals. People like sadhus, dhobi (washing) workers, boat makers do their daily work. Kids playing on the ghats. There is full of life at the ghats.
