At first glance, you might think these photos were taken with high-end professional camera equipment. Their sharp details, striking angles, and up-close wildlife moments look like something out of a glossy magazine. Surprisingly, international award-winning photographer Steven Scott Grogin captures all of them with a Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

That’s part of what makes his work so compelling. Grogin taught himself mobile wildlife and macro photography, sharpening his skills with patience, curiosity, and many hours outdoors. Instead of sticking to a safe distance, he gets down close sometimes, right at ground level, by the water’s edge, or just above the forest floor. This approach lets viewers see the world the way reptiles, amphibians, insects, and other wild creatures do.

To get these immersive shots without disturbing wildlife, Grogin uses an extendable selfie stick and a remote shutter. This setup lets him move his Samsung S25 Ultra right up to the action while keeping a respectful distance. By shooting in Samsung’s Expert RAW mode, he preserves amazing detail, making his photos look almost identical to those taken with top-tier cameras.

Above all, Grogin’s goal is clear: he wants to connect people with nature. His photos draw us into secret swamps and seldom-seen moments with wildlife, creating a feeling of presence that puts us right beside the animals.
