The Roots of Black and White Photography is much deeper than that of Color Photography. Initially there wasn’t much to choose for photographers. It was all in Black and white. Even today people stick to this shade of color for the enjoyment is gives with a very different digital process. Black and white photography conveys things in a very artistic way. The impression it creates is beyond one’s vision and creativity. so what is the difference between this and color? In color the person is drawed to it visually, whereas in B/W he is stimulated intellectually, which is not the way many people see the world.
Few amazing tips in getting you started with nature photography with black and white.
1) Choose the Location
Knowing your destination, before preparing to start can make photography and travel much easier and interesting. Always choose locations which are easily accessible/commutable. The difficulty in getting there shouldn’t affect one’s photography. Get a quick note on the weather, time of sunset/sunrise etc to make the trip a memorable one.

2) Feel the Subject
If you need to create nature photography, you must have to personalize the experience before shooting. Choose your subjects carefully, photographs will profit from the subjects. Interesting subjects are what makes an interesting photograph, it reflects in your image. Look for the one which takes you by surprise. Your photograph will be surprising for others.
3) Seeing in Black and White
Look beyond the colors, stop colors from blocking your vision. This process can be tough at the beginning, believe me even the masters found in tough in the beginning. Start evaluating the scene based on the subject and composition, avoid color to play a bigger role, think neutral. Master the art of Black and white Photography.

4) Light is the Key
The properties of light has been phenomenal and it is slowly understood by us over the period of time. Learn some basic concepts of light to make exceptional photographs, one need not be a physics professor. Start to observe how light illuminates and enriches a subject. Nature photography is very dependent on light, Your continuous study can do wonders to your photography. After all photography is nothing but art of light.
5) Play with Long Exposure
Long exposure, is like penance. A vision for a prolonged amount of time. You glance at a space for some amount of time, slowly but gradually the scene becomes a part of you. You become engulfed within and it aspires you. Long exposure photography is art. Try it.
6) Look for Graphic Elements
Lines,Shapes, forms of patterns, Textures these are the essential elements when you remove color from your photograph. Without colors their noise becomes a music in form of B/W. It is how you perceive in achieving an art with the right combination of these elements which can in turn produce some stunning visuals.
7) Magic with Contrast
Black and white can be very compelling with strong visual impact when you play with the magic of contrast. Those tones of grey, or white with a touch of strong contrast can be very stimulating. Create your own style of tones and shades. Admiration is certain.
