A Call to Protect What’s Beautiful

Behind every enchanting photo lies a plea — to protect the Monarchs and their endangered habitat. The butterfly population has declined sharply in recent decades due to illegal logging, climate shifts, and the use of herbicides that destroy milkweed, their essential food source.

Through her storytelling, Makeeva gives these fragile creatures a voice, inspiring global awareness and empathy. Her art bridges beauty with purpose — reminding us that awe should lead to action. Each image becomes both a celebration and a wake-up call, urging us to protect one of nature’s most poetic migrations before it fades into memory.
