Laleh Mohmedi never expected that transforming her son Jacob’s pancakes into a lion would launch a worldwide phenomenon. What started as a fun way to make mealtime more engaging quickly turned into an artistic journey, with Jacob requesting characters from his favorite movies, books, and toys.
Through this creative process, Laleh not only brought beloved characters to life using ordinary ingredients but also turned food into an educational tool. By discussing the benefits of different ingredients—like calling kale a “superhero food”—she made healthy eating exciting for her son.
As her food creations gained popularity, Laleh launched Jacob’s Food Diaries on Instagram, which quickly went viral. Her intricate designs, crafted without refined sugar and using only natural ingredients, captured global attention, earning features in Time Magazine, The Huffington Post, and even The Ellen Show.
Collaborating with major brands like Disney, Nickelodeon, and 20th Century Fox, she now spends up to 20 hours on some of her edible masterpieces. What began as a simple kitchen experiment has become a full-time passion, proving that with imagination and skill, even the most basic ingredients can be turned into Disney magic.
