“My childhood was a canvas painted with the vibrant strokes of artistic influence. Surrounded by a family of creatives, I inherited a love for the arts that runs deep in my veins. Both my grandfather and great uncle wielded brushes as painters, while my mother, a master of watercolor portraits, imparted upon me a shared passion for the art of capturing the human spirit.
Adolescent summers were spent as a muse for my mother and her artist friends, each stroke of the brush embedding in me not only the visual aesthetics but also a profound appreciation for color and composition. My father, a connoisseur of the arts in his own right, shared his musical prowess, instilling in me a love for literature, theater, and the harmonious joy of making music.
Our family’s cultural exploration took us to art museums around the globe, where my father, a walking encyclopedia of artistic history, unravelled the stories behind each masterpiece we encountered.
Art, for me, is more than a creative outlet; it’s a familial thread that ties me to my roots and those I hold dear. As a mother, amidst the whirlwind of nurturing little ones, art becomes my sanctuary—a personal endeavor that keeps the flame of my identity alive and breathing. In every stroke, I find a piece of myself, a testament to the enduring power of artistic expression in maintaining the vitality of the soul.”

“My journey into photography began at the tender age of seven when I clutched my very first disposable camera, capturing the world through the lens of twenty-four blurry images featuring my cherished stuffed animals. As I grew older, my love for photography evolved, finding a new muse in the humble camera of my iPhone. Its automatic, fixed lens became a valuable teacher, guiding me to focus on the fundamentals—composition and light. To this day, I hold a fondness for the simplicity of a prime lens.
The pivotal moment in my photographic odyssey arrived with the birth of my first child. In a thoughtful gesture, my husband presented me with my inaugural DSLR, a powerful tool that, initially, left me bewildered. The frustration was palpable as I grappled with translating the vivid scenes in my mind into tangible images. Late nights were spent nursing a baby and voraciously consuming every piece of photography literature within my reach, a dual pursuit of mastering the craft and navigating the uncharted waters of motherhood.
The intertwining of self-discovery as a photographer and the profound journey of motherhood has shaped my perspective behind the lens. Love, tears, and the relentless grind of hard work are the threads that bind these two narratives, forever entwined in the visual tapestry of my evolving life. Each click of the shutter serves as a testament to the simultaneous growth of my skills as a photographer and my role as a mother— a harmonious blend of learning, evolving, and embracing the beautiful chaos of life.”

“Photography, for me, is an exuberant playtime. Rules may exist, but I find joy in bending them, transforming the process into a realm of good fun and endless experimentation. A perpetual learner and creator of visual chaos, my approach mirrors the spirited essence of childhood.
Much like my affinity for my children’s messes, I revel in the art of making my own. Perfect photographs, once a pursuit that left me disheartened, have given way to a newfound source of pride. Imperfection, I’ve come to realize, defines the core of my artistic identity.
In essence, my photography is a dance between emotions and chaos, infused with an undeniable element of fun and humor. Each frame tells a story, not of flawlessness, but of the vibrant, untamed spirit that defines both my art and my journey as a perpetual creator.”

“A transformative moment in my photographic journey unfolded when I had the honor of participating in an exceptional online class led by none other than my photography idol, Roxanne Bryant. Her course, “Editing for Artists,” proved to be a game-changer, revolutionizing my approach to post-processing.
Under Roxanne’s guidance, I embraced a departure from presets, learning to treat each photograph as a unique canvas for artistic expression. Armed with this newfound perspective, I committed to the meticulous process of hand-editing each image in Lightroom. My goal became to apply the bare minimum adjustments, preserving the photograph’s innate cleanliness and authenticity.
Editing, for me, has evolved into an art form as beloved as the act of capturing moments through my lens. It’s a journey akin to painting, where I lose myself in the nuances of each adjustment, striving to enhance without overpowering, and to bring forth the true essence of the scene before me. In the realm of post-processing, I discover the same joy and fulfillment that first drew me into the world of photography.”

“The sweetest moments of my day unfold when my children express their budding love for photography. The aspirations of my kids to become photographers themselves bring immeasurable joy to my heart. A testament to this shared passion is my five-year-old daughter, a little beacon of inspiration.
There are mornings when the allure of a captivating patch of light beckons her, and in those moments, she becomes my enthusiastic messenger. Recently, at the early hour of 6 am (not always my preferred wake-up time), she tiptoed into my world with an earnest whisper, “Mom, I know you don’t like to be woken up, but I couldn’t bear for you to miss this beautiful light.” Her understanding and consideration warmed my heart.
In her innocent eyes, the discovery of beautiful light isn’t just a visual delight; it’s a connection to me and my passion. When she sees that enchanting glow, she thinks of me. For a mother and a photographer, there exists no greater compliment in the world. These moments, woven with love and shared appreciation for the art of capturing light, are the threads that bind us in a tapestry of shared dreams and cherished connections.”
