In 2008, he received an advanced diploma in photojournalism from Pathshala, the South Asian Institute of Photography, and shortly thereafter won the National Geographic All Roads Photography Award. Since that time, Hasan has won numerous awards around the world, and exhibited his All Roads winning photo-essay entitled Living Stone: A Community Losing is Living Environment in many other competitions worldwide.
