Winner – Santosh Kale
This photograph is the winner of our competition for the theme – “Festival Essence”.
For us, this photograph is perfect for the theme Festival Essence. The entire frame is well balanced and the total ambiance created around the main subject which is placed in the center as if it is the sun of the entire solar system. Some centric force injected towards the center from every corner of the frame. The point of view and angle of view in our opinion has created magic as every character can be seen properly. The tension and mood created in the image are huge where all elements are well connected.
Congratulations to the Winner for Producing such an impressive photograph of the festival.
1st Runner Up – Soumya Shankar Ghosal
This image is a classic example of brilliant framing and application of timing under low light along with the festive mood.
In the background the symbol of power as Maa Durga (Hindu goddess) and in the middle there is a transparent cloth that amazingly separates the Hand pull rickshaw. The reflection of light on cloth helped to create the silhouette figure in the front. For us, the rickshaw puller is a symbol of untamed motion that combines power and fighting spirit to fight with his daily fate to live in the society. This is no doubt is synchronization of power as if the energy is being transferred from Goddess to the rickshaw puller to go ahead with his daily fight.
2nd Runner Up – Alipiriya Ghosh
When you are a child and free from any compulsion, politics, tension or anything then your state Can be considered as Godly state. Child in our view is like an innocent god. Here four children playing with god. What they see, hear, are trying to replicate those things.
This is happening on the pavement. When we saw the image immediately we felt like God is playing with god. The total scenario is very soulful and very pure. They don’t know why they are worshiping but obviously, we can say that without any greed or expectation they are doing it. A great relation may be created when there the expectations are missing. Sometimes we say while photographing just be like a child..without a fear of breaking the rules with fresh mind and soul leaving all preconceived ideas behind, playing with the time and beyond.
