When did you start shooting and how did this love for photography happen?

I started experimenting with my family’s first digital camera at about 12 years old. I loved how I could shoot without worrying about using up the expensive film.

Few words about shadows and colors on your photographs?

There are specific lighting situations and colors that attract me. I try to look for those features every time I go out with my camera. Those special conditions are everywhere but sometimes it is a challenge to find out when they happen and where.

How did you achieve that cinematic look and textures in your photographs?

Through observing and approaching locations and scenes over and over again you start to see how light can transform them. And capturing it at the moment that best fits your vision. Going in with a general idea of what you want can be very effective.

What is that you have adhered and learned through photography over the years?

Have patience and wait for the right moment. The image you are looking to capture comes eventually when you least expect it. Sometimes it can even be in the complete opposite direction.

What do you do to keep motivated, and not lose your passion for photography?

Keep shooting even when you don’t feel like it. I also look for inspiration in other forms of art like movies and music.

Which photographers have inspired you?

For me, it’s more about storytelling. Photographers like Ernst Haas, Viviane Maier, Steve McCurry, Patrick Demarchelier, Saul Leiter among others told amazing stories through their still images. Also cinematographers like Roger Deakens and Emmanuel Lubeski and film directors Steven Spielberg and David Fincher.

I mostly use a Sony A7R ii with a 35mm or 55mm Zeiss lens or simply my iPhone. I’ll shoot images with any camera though, I like to experiment.
