“In 2004, I embarked on a transformative journey, a 4-year cycling expedition that took me on a circumnavigation of the globe. The heart of this odyssey unfolded during the 18 months I spent cycling across Africa, from Cape Town to Cairo. Amidst the vast expanse of the Sahara desert, I found myself lost, only to be rescued by a compassionate Nubian nomad.
