Banaras is known for it’s temples and spiritualism. Banaras has been as cultural centre of North India for several thousand years, and is closely associated with the Ganges. Hindus believe that death in the city will bring salvation, making it a major centre for pilgrimage. The city is known worldwide for its many ghats, embankments made in steps of stone slabs along the river bank where pilgrims ritual ablutions.
I tried to capture the essence of Banaras, Uttar Pradesh, India. I visited the place two times in winters, Monsoon and Dev Deepavali festival last year. Banaras is photographically amazing destinations for photographers whether they are professionals or budding. Banaras is a paradise for street photographers, every moment there is an interesting activity taking place in the city.
