#1. Winner: Fairy Light by Gareth jones

“I had seen various images from this location over the years and last year i made an effort to try capture something special in the fabulous gorge in Snowdinia . I had planed for the sun to rise over the fairy glen by 9.45 on a clear but cold November morning As i parked up at the car park o could see the dew on the grass and was anticipating a nice image , as i made my way down the slippery rocks to the gorge (nearly falling on my back side ) with my heart beating i began to realise that this morning was my lucky day , as i set up my composition these amazing light rays streamed down from the tree canopy like some amazing natural light show , i was in awe of nature for about 10 minutes whilst clicking the shutter button in excitement.”

#2. People’s Choice: Even Flow by Christopher Small

“My home beach of Summerleaze in Bude. One of the reasons I love to photograph the coast is that the landscape is forever changing around you. No two days look the same. I’ve photographed this beach hundreds of times and this is the first time I’ve seen patterns like this left in the sand from the receding tide. Compositionally, I got as close to the sand as possible to show the individual grains of sand and lined the scene up so the patterns would draw the viewer towards the sunset. I particularly like how the patterns look like roots reaching out of the ocean.”
