The 11th annual International Landscape Photographer of the Year competition has unveiled its 2024 winners, celebrating breathtaking imagery from across the globe. Canadian photographer Andrew Mielzynski claimed the top honor, International Landscape Photographer of the Year, for his striking portfolio of four minimalist images, characterized by their stark beauty and subdued color palettes. This marks a remarkable repeat victory for Mielzynski, who shared the award last year.
Japanese photographer Ryohei Irie won the Landscape Photograph of the Year award with Traces of Light, a captivating image of fireflies illuminating a serene forest. Both photographers emerged victorious among 3,600 submissions, with Mielzynski receiving $5,000 and Irie taking home $2,000 as part of the $12,500 total cash purse.
In addition to the headline awards, the competition honored winners in categories such as Black and White, Aerial, Snow and Ice, and Forest. These categories showcased the diversity and creativity in landscape photography, highlighting the intricate beauty of natural and abstract scenery.
A total of 202 photographs were recognized, with several standout entries featured in the competition’s 2024 eBook, available for download on its official website.
