Maria Sahai hails from a lineage of nomads. Born in the Russian Far East and raised in Southern Kazakhstan, she has embraced a nomadic lifestyle herself. Her gratitude for the opportunity to travel the world and capture its nature and people through photography is immense.

For years, Maria has frequented Greenland, with Ilulissat being one of her favorite towns. Known for its surreal landscapes and the small, colorful houses surrounded by countless icebergs, Ilulissat offers a unique photographic experience. A particular area of attraction for Maria is the Ilulissat Icefjord. In the summertime, she loves visiting around midnight, thermos of hot coffee in hand, to sit and listen to the icebergs calving as they drift into the ocean.
