With over 10,000 entries from 70 countries, the competition was fiercer than ever. Photographers captured everything from elegant haute cuisine to vibrant street food and rustic harvest scenes. The awards span more than 25 diverse categories, including food styling, innovation, cakes, street food, drinks, food preparation, and food-related photojournalism. Each category offered a unique perspective on the global food experience, with imagery that evokes taste, smell, and emotion.
Judging was conducted by an esteemed panel of industry leaders—photographers, magazine editors, film directors, creative directors, chefs, and food retailers—all of whom brought their keen eye and culinary passion to the selection process. The top overall winner received a £5,000 prize and a coveted exhibition spot at the Mall Galleries, while each category winner earned a trophy and their own showcase.
These 18 winning photos are not just visually stunning—they are stories told through flavor, color, and culture. They reflect the deep connection between food and humanity, and prove that a powerful food image can be as emotionally resonant as any fine art.

#1. Overall Winner: "The Elderly Having Delicious Food" by Xiaoling Li

"In an early spring afternoon in Shuangliu Ancient Town, Sichuan Province, China, five elderly ladies in their eighties sit together. Wearing colourful jackets and wool hats, they happily eat the famous Sichuan snack ‘Spring rolls’. A wrap of thin homemade dough, filled with cucumber, carrot and shredded scallions, drizzled with green mustard, Sichuan pepper, red oil, sweet sauce, and sprinkled with sesame seeds. They are “setting up a Dragon Gate formation” – an expression used in China to refer to neighbourhood friends coming together to chat, gossip and share stories.
