16 Award-Winning Photos from the 2025 GCCA Concrete in Life Photography Competition

The 2025 GCCA Concrete in Life Photography Competition has unveiled its 16 award-winning photos, celebrating the unexpected beauty and global significance of concrete. Organized by the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA), this unique contest challenges conventional photo themes by focusing on concrete—not just as a material, but as a vital part of everyday life. With over 20,000 entries from photographers using everything from smartphones to professional cameras, the competition highlights concrete’s role in shaping our world—from roads and bridges to homes, schools, and public spaces.

GCCA Chief Executive Thomas Guillot praised the entries for showcasing concrete’s versatility and aesthetic potential. The competition awarded an overall winner with a $10,000 prize, along with $2,500 prizes for four category winners—Urban Design and Use, Concrete Infrastructure, Concrete in Daily Life, and Beauty and Design—and a $5,000 People’s Choice award. The selected images serve as a compelling visual testament to concrete’s essential presence in our lives and its unexpected artistry.
