It’s not about the Camera – It’s who’s Behind It.

The above statement is very true and you will agree after you visit Meagan V Blazier Photographs. All the below photographs she captured with Canon PowerShot SX40HS (discontinued model). Read her interview and inspire yourself.

Could you please introduce yourself?

I’m Meagan V Blazier from the metro Detroit area of Michigan, U.S.

How did this love for photography happen?

My love for photography came after I had bought a point and shoot to document the birth & growth of my son and initially, I only used it for photographs of him, but the more I used it, I started shooting everything and anything and about a year ago, I started to gain interest in landscape scenery and old buildings.

What fascinates you to capture these beautiful landscapes?

I love capturing desolate landscapes and bringing new life to them through my photographs.

Could you please tell us your post processing flow?

My processing consists of mainly Lightroom and depending on the image, I will use very basic Photoshop techniques. In Lightroom, I make simple adjustments to white balance, highlights and shadows and then use radials and brushes to adjust lighting and give the photograph more depth.

Your Gear?

My gear is as simple as can be. I own one camera and one camera only which is a Canon SX40HS (discontinued model). Note: this is NOT a DSLR.

Apart from photography, what are your hobbies?

As cliche as it sounds, my only hobby is photography. It’s in my soul. It’s all I think about. And when I’m not doing that, I’m spending as much time with my son as I can.

Any tips/advice for aspiring photographers?

I would tell aspiring photographers to try a point and shoot before buying a bunch of expensive gear. So many people think that the moment you buy a fancy camera, you’re an instant photographer. There’s so much more to it than that. It’s a passion for us photographers and we all have a unique vision and without that vision, you have merely just a snapshot.
